Who Inspires You?

When many of us think about our inspirations, family comes to mind. They’ve watched us fail, and watched us succeed, and hopefully had our backs along the way.  So, when proposing the question, “Who Inspires You?”, it’s assumed that many people would name a family member.

For Jacqui Blue at Starseed Pictures, that family member has always been her grandmother.

Jeanne, bubbee as as Jacqui would call her, inspired a love of the arts in her. Bubbee Jeanne sparked this interest in Jacqui when she took her on trips to the theater as a child . She taught her to believe in herself and reach for the stars, which certainly paid off as Jacqui is an emerging filmmaker, director, writer, business owner, and mother to five sons. Her talents can be seen through her 2014 documentary, Beautiful Births, which reflects her passion for natural birth. The film received international acclaim and Jacqui proceeded to launch her own production company, Starseed Pictures. She recently worked with James Franco and Jay Davis at Studio 4 on a short film and is now in production for a second documentary, a short film, and a web series.

Family doesn’t always have to be blood-related. Craig Wolfe, President of CelebriDucks, is inspired each and every day by his girlfriend of 15 years. Because of her, Craig is able to trust his instincts and push his ideas forward. It is this optimism and support from his girlfriend that has led Craig to become the top custom rubber duck manufacturer in the world.

Similarly, Linda Murray Bullard, the author and self-publisher of The Well Ran Dry: Memoirs of a Motherless Child and the owner of LSMB Business Solutions, LLC, would not be where she is today without her greatest source of inspiration, her dad, Edward G. Murray, Sr. Despite his passing in 1990, he continues to influence her decisions and his memory helps her overcome the many obstacles she’s faced in her life, like being motherless and having a teen pregnancy. He instilled in her his wisdom about life, finances and a good work ethic, which has helped her become the successful female entrepreneur she is today.

No matter who inspires you, we all owe our success to someone in our lives who has always supported us and inspired us to pursue our passions and be better people.
