Stephanie Leach is a working mom, with a husband and a growing 12 year old son that is ALWAYS hungry. As a Certified Health Coach, and founder of, Stephanie strives to “walk my talk” by ensuring that her family gets healthy meals and snacks made from real, whole food as often as possible.

Recently, we had the pleasure to sit down with Stephanie to find out how she keeps her family eating healthy. 

I often make homemade bean dips and hummus that can be eaten with carrot sticks, bell pepper strips or woven wheat crackers. This helps him get some healthy, plant based protein in a fun and delicious dip.

Bean dips are easy to make using a small or mini food processor.

Southwest Black Bean Dip
Time: 5 minutes

1 can black beans, rinsed and drainedStephanie_Leach_Black_Bean_Dip1
2 T. lime juice
2 T. olive oil
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
Salt to taste

Place all ingredients in the mini food processor and pulse until creamy. Serve with mini carrots, bell pepper strips, cucumber coins, grape tomatoes, and woven wheat crackers.
